event 21 - FLAKE - The Beautiful House Christmas Party
On Monday, Dec 20, 2004 we returned with our first event at the Marpole Curling Club since April 2003 with Shelley Campbell, The Beauticians, Rowan Lipkovits, Dep & Shep, Greg Gillespie from Trainsleeper, Larry Lechner from Conrad, Cliff Howard, Robert Patrizio, Soressa Gardner and Mehdi.
event 20 - The Beautiful House Indie Music Stage (Manifest Arts Festival)
On Friday, November 12, 2004, Beautiful House presents an indie band night for the Manifest Arts Festival. The evening is free of charge and features: Swingset Champion, Joel Willoughby (from Maplewood Lane), and Nate Beede (formerly from The Pale).

With bands wanting to curl, and glass sculptures
made from scraps, we began our third year of events
and decided that less is more in more ways than one.
We held our first all-women event and ended the year
with an excellent turn out for Ooh Child.

2001 - YEAR 2:
Our second year began on Main Street at Starry Dynamo
Cafe and we were excited at the new awareness
we were starting to receive. We settled into the Marpole
Curling Club for the remainder of the year fuelled
by our discovery of many new talented artists.

Back in Marpole and in our current home, we presented
Curl, the first of a series of three swellegant
evenings of live music and performance art in the

Club on April 7, 2001. This event featured music

Back at our November venue, Starry
Dynamo Cafe, on Main Street, we presented The
Four Loves on February 10, 2001 for another variety
show with live music, spoken word with newcomer

1999-2000 - YEAR 1:
Our first year was a period of tremendous growth
for us with fond memories and many lessons learned.
With five different venues in our first year, all
in the Marpole area, we closed the year back at our
first venue.
event 09 - Angel - The First Annual Independent Live Music & Art Christmas Event
Beginning our 2nd year with a move out of Marpole for the first time, Beautiful House presented Angel, our 1st annual Christmas event at Starry Dynamo Cafe (Main and 27th) featuring Nenah Reece, Joellel Lush and display art by Ehren Seeland. Many open mike performers got up to perform after the show including Lisa O'Neill and Craig Norton.

Our Vegas Theme was held in March at the former
Mona Leah Gallery in Marpole (1012 SW Marine Drive),
featuring Vancouver recording artists, Red
Velvet Swing, a pop jazz band, a photo exhibit
by Emily Carr graduate Kathryn
Mussallem, and a short play Sabotage written
by John Verhaeven
who regularly holds events at The Cavern on Commercial
Drive. Also performing in the Joker's Ballroom were
Laurie
MacDonald and a capella duo, Michelle
Shepherd and Rinat
De Picciotto. Dj's Diverse
and Jetboy.
A wild evening that went into the wee hours.

Back in our sweet warehouse - reSOLVE was held
in January at 8805 Selkirk featuring artwork by
Jeff
Gibson and a live performance by Laurie
MacDonald. Special Guests: Michelle
Shepherd and Rinat
De Picciotto, dj Jetboy.

Our first warehouse party - held at 8805 Selkirk
in November 1999 with featured artists Heather Raworth,
Daren Demeule, and special performance by Laurie
MacDonald. Poetry readings by Tracey Martin, and
Robert Patrizio and music by dj Magnetic Bubble.
Fond memories of our first warehouse space.

Held in the upstairs lounge at Marpole Oakridge
Community Centre back in October 1999 featuring
nudes by Dianne Whelan and performance by Michelle,
Rinat and band. Monologue performed by Kathleen Boddington.
