Home | Our Events | Beautiful Happenings | Woodsong Festival 2005

7th AnnualWoodsong Festival

Woodsong Arts & Music Festival has been growing by word of mouth for years and features some of the best independent bands on the continent including a few of the bands that we've been honored to have perform at some of our past events like Jonathan Inc., Maplewood Lane and Late Tuesday plus some amazing bands that we'd like to have play at one of our future events like Seattle's Aaron Sprinkle, The Pale Pacific and many more.

Getting There from I-5:

Orcas Island is serviced by the Washington State Ferry System. Ferries to Orcas depart several times a day from Anacortes, WA (off the I-5 about half-way between Vancouver and Seattle). Please arrive at the ferry well before the scheduled departure.

Take exit 230 off the I-5. Turn right onto Goldenrod at the intersection (McDonalds can be seen straight across the street). Turn left at the first light onto Highway 20 and follow it to Anacortes. Follow the signs from Anacortes to the ferry terminal.

Get off the ferry at Orcas Island (there are several islands). Follow the main island road to The Crow's Nest at 358 Emma's Lane in Eastsound.

FREE FESTIVAL CAMPING:

Most festival-goers opt to stay somewhere on the 20, wooded, park-like acres that make up the festival grounds. Come prepared for camping and pitch your tent wherever you like on this parklike 20-acre site complete with propane barbeques and outhouse facilities. There are also potluck breakfasts being held on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:00-9:30 am. If you wish to participate in a breakfast, please bring a topping or drink to share. You should bring or expect to purchase all other meals/food items. There is a grocery store and restaurants about 4 miles away in the town of Eastsound.

HOTELS, ETC:

If you have babies or a strong distaste for camping, you can find your own accommodations around the island including hotels, bed and breakfasts, inns and resorts.

The festival is from July 21-24, 2005 and includes crafts, music, workshops and films. There are short sets of music from 1pm - 5pm and longer sets from 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm on Friday and Saturday.
