this week at beautiful house sundays we feature a variety show with the music of belinda bruce and soressa gardner along with dj mischa + guests. special performances by mehndi artist, navil kara, and theatrical jazz artist, meita winkler. it's an earlier showtime this week.

nazil kara is a Mehndi artist. this sunday features A presentation of mehndi on a live model (audio lava's lisa b) demonstrating this exquisite art form throughout the evening.

the weekly format for bh sundays is a no-pretense variety of hand-picked local independent musicians, our resident dj mischa spinning deep house tracks, and occasional performance art in the mix. as always, a warm and supportive environment with a beautiful vibe for your soul. hope to see you in-the-house!

belinda bruce is a Vancouver singer-songwriter who brews quirky folk-pop ditties of equal parts honey, grit and rapture. She is excited to be working with a new band and an evolving dynamic sound, whipped into a froth by local-yokel stars from Mazinaw, Spygirl and Flophouse Jr.

"Gardner's live vocals, layered over recorded vocalizations, were alternately eerie and soothing" - The Georgia Straight. Soressa Gardner is an improvisational vocalist and songwriter. this Sunday soressa will showcase her original lo-fi tunes with Ryan Guldemon (guitar) and Joel Lower (drums). for more visit soressagardner.com.

meita winkler is a vancouver performing artist mixing music, dance and theatre with the flavour of vaudeville. she will perform 2 numbers sunday. If you haven't seen the Meita Jazz Trio in action, you're missing out on some of the finest cabaret in Vancouver. she performs regularly at the Montmartre Cafe (Feb. 20th) and Dentry's Irish Grill (Wednesdays in february).
