The
Four Loves
February 10, 2001
Starry Dynamo Cafe
On
February 10, 2001, Beautiful House Gallery Lounge
presented an evening of music, spoken word, art, cocktails
and other lovely things.
The
theme of our 10th event, "The Four Loves",
is based on the book with the same name by CS Lewis
that explains ALL the loves we experience: affection,
friendship,
eros and charity.
Like
the typical mushy heart day stuff, our pre-Valentine's
Day soiree featured many sad love songs by local folk
singer Craig
Norton, Lisa
O'Neil, Laurie
MacDonald, Steve
Sian, and former Denmark lounge singer Kimona,
plus an Eros-themed art exhibit by Robert
Bruce Davis.
Unlike the typical mushy heart day stuff, our pre-Valentine's
Day soiree also featured a good mix of original spoken
word and excerpts from CS Lewis' "The Four Loves"
by local writer, Malcolm
Johnson, Tracey
Martin, and Seattle Poetry Festival Coordinator,
Danika
Dinsmore.
Open
mike followed the scheduled performances.
The
Four Loves was held at Starry Dynamo Cafe (4342
Main St @ 27th).
