Drew Grow's new band Careen is "brilliantly
crafted pop" also featuring Pat and Andy doing
what they do best, only better. Careen played
at Underground Coffee in Newberg, Oregon on August
30th, 2002.
Featuring Pat on guitar and Andy on drums, among
others, this band is the Anti-Five
O'Clock People. All the supressed rock 'n' roll
that was dying to get out and trapped behind the acoustic
act broke free and now there's a rebellion on their
hands.
Careen's lyrics are light but intelligent without
being profound or heavy. The musical arrangements
are genius. You might get something close if you put
Foghat, the Cars, and Lyle Lovett into a blender and
liquified it.
The demo/sampler contains many of the forthcoming
songs and features vocal contributions by Alex Walker
of Five
O'Clock People. To whet your apetite, visit careen.net.
