Malcolm Johnson

Malcolm Johnson Promotional Photos by Tyrone Castelanelli. More Photos...

Malcolm Johnson is a Victoria-based creative and freelance writer. Born in Ottawa, he moved with his family at a young age to the West Coast, where he graduated from the University of Victoria in 1999. Malcolm's first collection of works, a collaboration with Matthew Hooton, is titled Ethnography and was published in Canada in early 2001.

Striving for some sort of marriage between the sacred and the profance, Malcolm's writing is focussed on "capturing the wierdness and mystery and hope that are the lives of people our age." His accomplishments include several recent publications and national broadcasts, and participation in the Word of Mouth reading series in the spring of 2001.

Malcolm penned an Advent meditation for Victoria's Place community in December 2001.

Forthcoming works include a novel, Snake River Valley, and "more words, etcetera…if all goes well, and donations are welcome…"
