Art Rendering of Rinat De Picciotto by James Neufeld
Rinat De Picciotto is an artist, singer, writer and
photographer, currently pursuing a career in architecture.
Rinat has been a long-time supporter of Beautiful
House since the first event back in September 1999
and has grown to become a good friend of ours aswell.
She has performed live a capella jazz with her singing
partner and friend, Michelle
Shepherd at six of our events from October 1999
to July 2000. The duo has also performed with regular
Beautiful House performer, Cliff
Howard.
Her singing partner, Michelle
Shepherd, spent a year teaching in Guatemala and
Rinat took a break from performing at Beautiful House
until a year later in August 2001 when she performed
some of her recent creative non-fiction, "Italian
Rennaisance" at Curl
3 held at the Marpole Curling Club.
In 2001, Michelle
Shepherd and Rinat went into the recording studio
of Shaun Warder to record a few covers including Sarah
McLachlan's Ice Cream. Wanna download the song as
an mp3? Email us.
History was made on September 11th, 2001 and Rinat
took a year off to visit her childhood homeland, Israel,
in these troubled times. Her travels brought
her many memories, insights, stories and photographs.
From singer to writer to painter and photographer,
we look forward to her continuing involvement at upcoming
events includling a photo exhibit November 2002
at our Ooh
Child event of her post 9/11 trip to Israel.
