Melissa
is a graduate of UBC and McGill, where she perfected
the art of singing classical vocal music in all of
its various guises, including opera (modern and traditional)
art song and oratorio. One of her favorite roles is
that of the Lady with a Cake Box from
Argentos Postcard from Morocco. She has also
performed the role of Donna Elvira in the Vancouver
Academy of Musics production of Don Giovanni
and Veronique in Opera Breves production of
Le Docteur Miracle.
Melissa
has also sung locally in musical theatre and in solo
recital, her most recent project being a recital of
French art song at the magnificent Hycroft mansion,
home of the University Womens Club. She currently
teaches private voice lessons and conducts two a capella
womens choruses.
