Laurie MacDonald

Laurie MacDonald, singer/songwriter, was born and raised in British Columbia. With a life long interest in music, Laurie grew up playing various musicial instruments and singing in school choirs and has always made music an integral part of her life.

Laurie has been working with various musical groups over the last few years and is now working on writing her own songs and eventually will record a CD of her own in the not too distant future.

Laurie has performed classic rock, crossover pop, and country covers with her guitar at several Beautiful House events since we began in 1999. Other noteworthy performances include the Cloverdale Rodeo and the New Westminster Quay.

Laurie would like to stress that "music is an important part of people's lives and well being so get out and support local musicians whenever you can. Your support is appreciated."

Beautiful House Events:

Laurie has played at three of our events including her most recent performance with her friend Steve Sian at our 10th event, The Four Loves, February 10, 2001. Taking turns through their smooth, tight set, it was evident that Laurie and Steve are old friends who just love to sing and play their guitars.

We're please to have Laurie back at "The House" again June 22nd when we present our 16th event - Sweet 16. Thanks Laurie for helping us get off our feet in the first year - you're always a pleasure to see live and it's great to see that we've all grown since the early bH warehouse days!

Interesting Facts:

Laurie was the nextdoor neighbour of cofounder James Neufeld for 7 years. James' cats would often sneak into her apartment. Laurie has since moved out of Vancouver City to a larger space in BC's Lower Mainland where she continues vocal training, rehearsing, gigging and writing original material. Keep it up, Laurie... and stop by anytime for a visit!
